Just a few things...

I just wanted to mention that I am at 101 pounds lost now! I made it past that HUGE milestone!

Also, more exciting stuff... We had our monthly team meeting for lia sophia, last night. I found out that I was #2 in sales for our division, in December! Yeah! I am really pushing myself now, and it's paying off! I have two new team members this week, and have booked seven shows for February, and nine for March so far. I'm hoping to get ten for both months.

It's amazing to me, that despite the fact that we are in a "failing economy" and dealing with a recession, I am posting my biggest numbers yet. Women will always want to feel good about themselves. I am able to say that I choose not to be affected by the recession. I won't get laid off. I won't be downsized. I'm amazed. Thank you God, for putting this in my life!

Going back home

I’m in the van again, on the way home from Chicago. We had a FANTASTIC weekend! I am pumped, and have the tools I need.

If any of you need some great motivation, or just want to listen to a spectacular speaker, get CDs of Jack Canfield, author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul.” We learned so much, and laughed so much at his presentation. He showed us the effect of negative thoughts, on our muscle groups. He also showed us the power of positive thinking. Not just talking about it, but using kinesiology, showed us actual muscle weakness and strength. It was truly awesome.

I need to say again, how proud I am to be with this company. I get paid to have fun. I’m realizing that the sky is the limit with this business. I encourage everyone to consider jumping on board. Click here for a quick video...it's awesome! Okay, I think every one of us has watched a late night infomercial, thinking, “Why didn’t I think of that? I’d be rich!” That’s like lia Sophia right now. It is such a great opportunity, and those jumping in right now, will be the ones making that money. The company is still small enough to make it anyone’s game, but large enough to be the largest fashion jewelry company in the world!

Not to mention, integrity. I am proud to be part of this company. I have met the owner/president, vice president, board of directors, etc. Each one of them, down to earth, gracious, and not afraid to make a fool out of themselves, to earn our laughs. On that note, I have to say “Get Well” to Lisa, our zone manager. We missed you!

I hope someday to have a team, full of my friends and family members. It would be so great to be taking this journey with the people I love.

In this short nine months, I have earned money, self-confidence, femininity, the ability to continue being a stay-at-home mom, and a business owner. Best thing...I finally found myself again. I am so proud of what I'm able to accomplish! I am so blessed!

At Conference...

Whew! I am tiiiiiired. We arrived around noon, two hours late…but hey, we made it. We checked in, grabbed some Chex Mix for lunch, and rushed over to the Hyatt, for some breakout sessions. I always learn SO MUCH when I come to these events. I also learned that they sky walk from our hotel to the Hyatt is 794 steps. It’s really long, so I got a workout, which was awesome. We all crammed into our regional manager’s suite at the Hyatt, for a dinner of sloppy joes. Mmmmmm.

We had our kick-off session then, at 7pm. I saw Tory Kiam and Ellen Kiam, and was so psyched. One of my goals, is to hug Tory on stage, at the 2010 conference. All the high award winners get a hug from Tory. So, I went up to him, and said, “It’s my goal to get a hug from you.” He gave me a hug! It was free this time, but I’ll be sure to earn the next one. I also got my picture taken with him. He is so great. Again, I am so proud to be working with this company. Everyone is so down to earth! Owner, president, everyone gets right in there with us. What a wonderful group we have!

They brought in for us, the Southern Fried Chicks, a comedy trio. They were flippin hilarious. Check them out if you have a chance. I laughed so hard, for so long. Great show.

Then, after a pizza/Caesar salad party, we grabbed a drink, and hit the dance floor. I’m not really a dancer, but want to be sure I’m getting my workout in. I definitely feel like I worked out today. I made sure to take the stairs every time too.

So right now, everyone went to hang out in Pam’s room. I’m just winding down, and realizing that my alarm will be going off at 5am. Bedtime for Maggie. Nighty night…

Finally on our way!

We’re on the road! Weather is pretty bad here, so traffic was extremely slow moving. We’re 1 ½ hours behind schedule so far. Everyone is safe though, so that’s all that matters.

I’m in the back row of the van, by myself, crammed in with all the unnecessary stuff that I just HAD to pack. At least it fits. Jen W is driving. I’m so thankful that I was able to hitch a ride, instead of having to drive myself.

Now that we’re on the road, we can begin to focus on the upcoming weekend. Our keynote speaker this conference, is Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul. I’m looking forward to that one. It looks like the actual conference goes to 9:30 each night. After that, there is dancing. Crazy…we’re all crazy.
I have to say though, that I crave the energy that surrounds everyone at these conferences. It reminds me of high school pep rallies. There is something about being in a place with thousands of others, excited to be there. Everyone is supportive of each other, which is amazing, considering you have a bunch of women, who work together, being stuck together for a weekend . I sit here, and think of my teammates, and realize how blessed I am to be with such wonderful ladies. All ages, all different backgrounds, and different reasons for selling lia sophia. We have a great team!

Well, that’s it for now. I will write later, after we get to Chicago safely (as Jen just slammed on the brakes), and jump into our conference schedule…a bit behind schedule, but not too bad.
I’m at the Spring Gardens restaurant, connected to the HoJo, staring at my coffee through glazed-over eyes. I need to leave in an hour, to meet the ladies at the Park and Ride on Holt. It started snowing a couple hours ago already, so I’m praying for safe travels for everyone. Green Bay is only forecasted to get about 3 inches, Milwaukee 6-8”, and south 8-10”. I’m amazed at what an active winter this has been!

Last night was enjoyable. I got to see Katie and Matt again. It’s been about two years since we have seen each other, we figured. They’ve both lost so much weight. I’ve lost weight, so it was great to see the transition in everyone. The show was fun, and I enjoyed meeting her friends.

Back to the losing weight thingy… For those of you who have been checking in on me, I am at 99 ½ pounds lost, as of two days ago! I’m so thankful for this. I’m also so thankful for so much support from everyone, throughout the process.
I just got word that the Pam and the ladies left a ½ hour late, and made a pit stop so far. Looks like I’ll have to hang around a lot longer. It’s alright though… I’ll be hyped up on coffee when they get here. I wish they had Wi-Fi. I could be spending useless time on Facebook. Woohoo!

Oh, another thing I noticed. I have been here less than 24 hours, and wish I was with Mike and Aristana. I keep looking at my pictures of them, and find that I miss them a lot already. I was in Florida for four days, before I had the “Got to see them now” blues. Funny what an impact your environment has on your emotions. I seemed to be fine, with warm weather, sun, and palm trees. Snow, and staring out the window at a freeway don’t seem to leave me content with being alone.
Again, see ya later!

On the road again...

It's travel time again, which means it’s time to blog again. I’m hanging out here at the Milwaukee airport Howard Johnson, relaxing a bit, before I have to get going again. I have a meeting with a teammate this afternoon, and a show tonight in Milwaukee. Tomorrow, I’ll meet some of my team members at the Park N Ride, and head to Chicago for the weekend. It’s time for another conference! Woohoo! I’ve had so much fun at the past conferences I’ve been to, so I’m really looking forward to this one. It’s kind of like a high school pep rally. I’ll be pumped up and ready to go, once again!

Wish me luck. I took four wrong turns on the way here, so I’m just hoping to make it back to the hotel tonight. Forget sales and booking goals. I just want to get safely back. I’d be better off with a huge sales goal :). Makes me glad to be hitching a ride to Chicago. I think the city would eat me alive.

Until Later...
